Board Examinations

How students are assessed, and how the academy prepares them for Gandharva examinations and karate belt gradings.

Gandharva Examinations

The Gandharva examinations are conducted by the Akhil Bharatiya Gandharva Mahavidyalaya Mandal. The academy guides eligible Bharatanatyam students through preparation, revision and examination readiness.

Levels and Syllabus

Examination levels and syllabus follow the conducting board. The academy desk confirms which level a student is eligible for and shares the current details.

How Students Prepare

  1. 1Practical preparation. Step-by-step practice of the items and technique required for the student’s level.
  2. 2Theory preparation. Where the level includes theory, students learn the terms and background in simple steps.
  3. 3Practice and revision. Regular revision so the student feels ready and calm on the day.
  4. 4Progress review. The guru reviews each student’s progress and advises when to take the examination.

Karate Belt Gradings

Karate students progress through graded belt examinations in the Shotokan syllabus. At each grading the student shows kihon (basics), kata (forms) and kumite (sparring) appropriate to their level.
